A Note from the District Governor
Our new international president, Wing-Kun Tam of Hong Kong, is calling on the Lions of the world to recommit themselves to what it means to be a Lion.
"Believe that the entire world can be changed when we come together as Lions. Believe that changing a life - or the world - starts with each one of us," he says.
Tam has chosen for his international theme, "I Believe".
He feels that each member must begin by believing in himself or herself and his or her club first - before convincing others to believe. He says that Lions Clubs International is making a difference like no other service organization in theworld. Together, as a family of unique volunteers, we constitute an organization that is a global leader in community service.
"I am calling on all Lions to embrace a sense of belief of what it truly means to be a Lion - a belief that each individual Lion makes a difference and that, together, we can change the world even more than we have yet imagined," Tam said.
This year, as District 31-E embarks on a new Lion's year, I am asking the membership to take the international president"s theme to heart. My personal theme for this year is "Together, we will make a difference."
